A note on 2026
Your Run Starts Here — A Note on 2026
Three years ago, MRC started with one run and one simple idea: showing up together, consistently, changes things. No grand plan. Just Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings on the Marina Green with and a handful of people who kept coming back.
This year, that idea kept scaling in ways we didn't fully expect. The community crossed 15,000 runners. We're reaching 500,000+ people seeing us on Instagram every month, and more and more of you are seeing us for the first time in person each month too — which means the thing we built for ourselves is now bringing new people into a new community and into running, every week.
But growth isn’t just about a number. Some of the most important work this year happened behind the scenes, where you couldn't see it:
We're building a real home for members. The members' portal is here — a single place for your perks, your events, your community, instead of scattered emails and DMs. And a members-only WhatsApp space, separate from our open community channel, so being a paying member actually means something tangible day to day.
We deepened what MRC stands for. Partnerships with Rivian, Equinox, Barry's, and 25+ local brands aren't just discounts — they're proof that a community built on consistency and real relationships is worth investing in. We raised over $50,000 for charity last year through this community, and that's the kind of number that only happens when people show up.
We fixed what was broken. For longer than we're proud of, a billing glitch in our old system was silently failing member payments — not because people stopped wanting to be part of MRC, but because cards expired and the system never caught it. We found it and we're rebuilding membership billing from scratch on a system that actually works. If you've been affected, you'll hear from us. If you want to get ahead of it and sign back up to MRC on our new, in-house build system, go to our Member Portal. Thank you 🙏🏼
Where to from here:
The next chapter isn't about being bigger for its own sake. It's about making sure that as MRC continues to create experiences that builds strong connections for new runners in the city. And for it to still feel like the same club — the one where a stranger from a run can become one of the closest people in your lives.
For us, that means:
-
A members' portal and WhatsApp community that make membership feel like something real
-
Deeper partnerships that give this community more reasons to run together
- Member events that help you build deep connections
-
And maybe a few more cities down the line
None of this happens without you coming to runs with us week after week, rain or shine.
Thank you for building this with us.
See you on a run,
Sarah and the MRC Captains
